Scenario A — Patient with disordered consciousness.
It is 19:00hrs in the evening, you are the house officer on call and
have been bleeped to see a 45 yrs old lady who has been admitted for alcohol
detoxification following an alcohol related seizure today. The patient
has fallen off the commode and has been found unresponsive on the floor.

Scenario B — Patient with Sepsis
It is 02:00hrs, you are the house officer on call and have been bleeped
to see a 58 year old man who underwent a total colectomy 10 days ago.
The patient is mildly confused and complaining of feeling hot.
The nurse tells you that the patient ‘doesn't’ look right.’

Scenario C — Post Operative internal bleeding.
It is 18:30, you’re the house officer on the ward and the staff
nurse calls you over to see Bob, a 67 year old man who is 5 days post
elective repair of aortic aneurysm. He is in severe pain after coming
back from the toilet. As you get there Bob suddenly collapses and becomes
clammy, pale and unresponsive.
